MITRA CLIP

MITRA CLIP is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to treat a condition known as mitral regurgitation. Mitral regurgitation occurs when the mitral valve in the heart doesn't close properly, allowing blood to flow backward into the left atrium during each heartbeat.

The MITRA CLIP device is designed to improve this condition without the need for open-heart surgery.

• Patients with moderate to severe mitral regurgitation.

• Individuals who are at high surgical risk for traditional open-heart mitral valve surgery.

• Those with symptomatic mitral regurgitation who may benefit from a less invasive approach.

• MITRA CLIP is delivered via a catheter through a vein in the leg and guided to the heart.

• The device clips together a portion of the mitral valve's leaflets, effectively reducing the backflow of blood.

• The procedure is performed while the heart is still beating, avoiding the need for cardiopulmonary bypass.

• MITRA CLIP can improve symptoms and quality of life for patients with mitral regurgitation.

• The procedure has been associated with reduced hospital stays and a lower risk of complications compared to open-heart surgery.

• Success rates vary depending on patient selection and the severity of mitral regurgitation but can be quite favorable.

• Most patients experience a relatively short recovery period compared to traditional open-heart surgery.

• Hospital stays are typically shorter, often just a few days.

• Patients may need to take medications to manage their heart condition and may be advised to make lifestyle changes to support heart health.
